Is it true that student midwives only do placement in one hospital?

Hey all,

Hope everyone is well.

Just wondering if it’s true that student midwives in England do placement in one hospital for three years - but rotate around the hospital?

Came across this from someone, and wondered if that’s true.

Thanks!

No you don't stay in the same maternity hospital for the duration of your midwife degree
Very unusual for this to happen.

You normally go to different maternity hospitals within your university/ hospital health trust or maybe go to another hospital within another health trust.
You'll also have your community placements to do as well.

Yeah sounds a bit strange but sometimes you may land up back at a placement you done before for another one but further down your coursework.
