Hi SLC , if in the final year of the course (medicine 5yrs) a student is declined the NHS bursary and it is their second degree, what maintenance loan from SLC is available? and in the final year if the student is independent student (over 25yrs old) is their own income taken into consideration

Hi Ryan,
Normally, in the final year of a medicine course you're entitled to a reduced rate Maintenance Loan only. However, we can look at your particular case.
Do you have a letter or e-mail from the NHS explaining why they didn't award you the bursary?
