Confused about my Interview Experience

Course: Architecture
University: Cambridge

Hey guys, hope you’re all well. I recently had interviews for architecture and was shocked by how open-ended all the questions were. I came out of the interview confused and disappointed that I couldn’t really be challenged on my answers as far as I would’ve hoped/expected to show my thinking abilities. Is this a natural experience when it comes to quite creative subjects?
It might be worth posting in the Architecture Applicants 2024 thread where there are some other Cambridge applicants:

May I ask what the outcome of your application was?

This is exactly what I thought. I'm was hoping people had a similar experience because it sort of felt like I wasn't going into depth on certain things and was more of just a chat that didn't really show any critical thinking. But it's probably natural to wish you'd said more, they were very nice and you can never really tell how it went until they give you their decision.
How did they respond to your portfolio?
