London metropolitan university help student finance

LMU requires an upfront payment for tuition fees because SFE still processing my application. Don’t know how much they are asking for but I don’t have the option to pay anything upfront as I don’t have any money and all I have is for to get me going on for expenses as I have two kids. Why is taking so long with my application? SFE had all my details only thing I did is that I changed university and course. I’m struggling and keep looking for updates every day on my account, I even tried to speak with them on the chat but the system kicks me out doesn’t even allows me to be a queue.
Why university asks me for money when they know that SFE still processing and I have send them proof of that?!
