Maximum student finance
Hi, long story short, I am estranged from my parents and I live with my older sister who is 25. I am currently 19. I am also a care leaver. I have been told I apparently may not get the full maintenance loan as I am estranged, but I’m not for sure if this is correct. Can someone explain if I could still be entitled to the max? Thank you

You can apply for the higher finance but we will need proof of your estrangement. Does anyone in a profession know of the situation? If so, we would need a letter from them on headed paper, signed and dated confirming the below:
•
Their relationship to the student and the length of time they have known them*
•
The reasons for the estrangement from both their parents and when this occurred
•
Current contact levels with both parents and if a reconciliation is likely
•
Their contact details should we need to contact them
