I have offers from UCL and Durham for PPE, and from Edinburgh for History and Politics. The PPE offers are contingent upon me getting a 5 on the Calculus BC exam this May, with result from that exam being released around late-June to early-July. I've read that one can only apply for a student visa while in one's home country (or at least, understood that from the UK Student Visa page). The problem being, that I was hoping to go to Europe and stay for a couple of months before I left for uni. All this to ask: Would I be able to apply for the Student Visa while staying in a country in Europe, or do I have to be in my country of residence when applying? I'm planning on emailing the British embassy at my country just in case anyway, but want to check beforehand.
