Is there anyone who is apply for Dentistry at New Vision University, I have a few questions so if anyone who has already applied and is doing dentistry there right now, can you reply to this thread please?

- Is there enough hours (1600) in the course, and is it approved by the GDC?
- How is the experience, is it good?
- Is the lectures in english and what are the support facilities like?

As this thread is currently unanswered... I study medicine at NVU (5/6) and can fill in some of the blanks.

Regarding the hours for `GDC`, students here MUST pay additional fees on top of their normal tuition for extra hours they need to get the required amount for the GDC, how much they pay I am not sure, but I know many students who have paid to get the hours required for the GDC.

EDIT: They pay 550 GEL a week for extra training.

I have 2 or 3 friends who have studied dentistry at NVU and graduated - they have generally enjoyed the course, it has its positives and negatives but they are good clinicians, as 2 of my friends even treated me personally a few times for actual issues and for their exams also.

Everything is in English, lectures, practicals, materials, etc; and the facilities are BRAND NEW, they definitely have better facilities and equipment than the medical school.

Hey thanks for this but still nobody from Georgia has ever registered as a dentist in the UK and this can be cross referenced with the GDC. I appreciate your honesty and people should be also be aware that so far, Georgia hasn't produced a single UK based dentist

This is true according to the GDC's response to a request via the Freedom of Information Act on `29 May 2024` (HERE). But this may change in the future.

It MAY change in the future... Maybe it will, maybe two or three people will join the register... But they'll definitely be exceptional cases. I've seen the syllabus, it's rubbish and not up to standard. The students coming out are playing catch-up big time to get to UK standard. Let's revisit this each year and see how many Georgian qualified dentists have joined the GDC, I can confidently say it won't be many.

They're just stealing your money and giving you hopes of becoming a UK dentist... Truth is, you're just throwing money down a pit. Don't do it guys

Correct. You are just throwing money away. They are very shady about trying to extract more money out of you. I wasn’t properly enrolled in 4 courses. I asked for a refund before the end of the semester. I was told in person that it didn’t matter that I sent an email in asking for a refund. The only choice I had was to try and complete a semester that had ended. I had to email them and ask to write the exams. The. They turned around and said there was a problem with my application after I had finally been admitted. It was never going to be possible for me to complete the courses they just wanted to sneakily get me to go into the program.
I have asked for a receipt of payment, a transcript of the alleged courses I was enrolled in and I guess failed and - copy of the Georgian VISA entitling me to write the examinations. they won’t give any of it to me. They just scammed me out of $3500 USD. I have nothing to show for it.

Why would you have to pay more money to get more hours ? You should be getting enough from the course itself. Just another scam.
