student finance if u withdraw

hi,
im dropping out of my current course at the end of this semester to go another uni. does this mean I still have to pay for the full years fees? my uni is telling me that I may have to but the gov says that if you drop out before end of term two you only have to pay 50% of the full years fees.

any help will be great.

Normally tuition fees are paid to unis as follows:

From the first day of the first term 25%
From the first day of the second term 50%
From the first day of the third term 100%

However, unis have their own fee policies and the amount of tuition fee loan you’ll need to pay will depend on the date you withdraw from your course. The policy should be available to students so search your uni's website or ask the fees/finance department for a copy.
