Most applicants who receive offers from LSE for L101 (and even a significant proportion of those who are rejected) are predicted 3/4 A*s. Trust me A*AA will no where be near enough

I'm not sure that's the right way to think about it. They take predicted grades with a pinch of salt but obviously A*AA predictions will put you at a disadvantage. If you can show tremendous interest in economics on your PS, eg competitions then you'll have a shot.

Ah, do they have a specific open day for Econ or is it just general?

But surely predicted grades can be backed up by UMS?

Yh for straight Economic, or you could always put down the UMS yourself :colone:

Why no specific Econ :cry2:, all the other subjects get one!

At the moment looking into UCL, Bristol, Warwick, and Nottingham.
Hoping to get AAAA at AS in maths, further maths, economics and physics, and at least A*AAB at A2.

Well, I found there is also something like

Maybe that's what you mean by saying specific.

Hopefully will achieve what I'm predicted and want in AS ; Math A , Economics A , Chemistry A , Physics A ( with first 3 subjects 90%+ ums )
If I manage that *pleaseeeegod* then will be looking to apply to Oxford ,UCL ,Warwick ,Nottingham and Bath.
Although I still think for Oxford I've got a very slim chance just going to work like a dog , hope and see the result
Competition for economics is ridiculous though at top 5 Uni's :s-smilie:
