I haven't masturbated for over a month, and something like only 8 times in the last 5 months. Each time it was difficult to maintain an erection and ejaculate. My sex drive has totally disappeared yet I still not approaching women, perhaps because my testosterone has dropped down to very low levels. I'm booking a doctor's appointment to find out for sure.
I have always wondered if masturbating too frequently would desensitise you to the pleasures of sex... Still not really finding any conclusive proof here though. Just suggestions.

In my experience it does. I struggled having sex because I had a long dry spell thus masturbating more frequently. When I got with my current GF I struggled to ejaculate. I figured I masturbated that frequently that my penis got used to my hand too much and so couldn't get used to the feeling of a vagina again.

I have now stopped masturbating completely and only ejaculate during sex. And its the best sex I have ever had in my whole life and I am personally putting it down to not masturbating.

You don't stop masturbating expecting to become 'good' at talking to women.
When you stop you become more desperate I guess would be the word, to relieve your self from that blue ball sensation, meaning you have a bigger drive to go out and talk to girls or anyone for that matter. Basically you're more determined to get laid.

Me personally if I don't masturbate for a couple weeks I become some kind of social slut, I'll talk to any girl anywhere. Reason I don't do it as much as I should is because day's off with nothing to do, as all guys know when boredom strikes..

I never said being good at talking to women. I just said confidence will be increased and then approaching women will become more natural.

For this to properly work you'll have to stop for at least a month I'd say. But the increase of confidence will increase the amount of women approached thus improving social skills with them.

You just said yourself you became a 'social slut'. That to me sounds like it has kind of worked for you.
Cool

I know. That's what's frightening.

This won't ever be an evidence-based discussion, it will be identical to people who swear that astrology is true because 'in their experience' their life has been transformed. If it works for you then fine but masturbation is an important part of sexual self-knowledge and health and having finally cast off the shackles of Victorian moralism that terrified generations of young people, now people are trying to achieve the same ends by pseudoscientific reasoning about dating women.

If men are struggling to get dates then telling them it's to do with how frequently they masturbate is crazy.

So lets say you have two guys: Guy A and Guy B

Guy A masturbates three times a week
Guy B masturbate five times a day - 35 times a week.

Whom is more likely to get a date? I personally feel that Guy A would because he is not getting his sexual release as much as Guy B. Why should Guy B go out and get his fix when he can do it at home... 5 times a day?

WHen I say fix I don't mean sex on the first date. I mean actively going out on dates that will ultimately lead to sex.

Perhaps - just throwing this out there - it will depend on Guy's A personality, attractiveness, confidence, ease with women, how interested he is in other people, and so on.

If Guy B wants to stay at home by himself then that's fine. But most people who date successfully are looking for relationships, not a replacement for their hand.

If either of them want to get better at approaching women then the answer will lie in honing their social skills not want they do in the privacy of a sock.

Yes, I'm 100% on the this works team.

I have the sloution for you, and it only two words:

Spoiler

Yes it sounds stupid. But honestly if you stop then the only way you'll be able to 'relieve' yourself is sex. Thats it on a postcard.

But let me explain why:

Every time you masturbate you release dopamine which is only temporary. That temporary feeling lasts for about a minute and then you have the 'guilty' felling afterwards. That's the dopamine comedown

Nope. Had to stop reading there.

I think that assumption says a lot more about your attitudes to sex than everybody elses.
As an anonymous poster thi really does work wonders! I feel more confident, more awake, more motivated. I haven't felt this good in a long long time. Give it a go guys and feel the difference!
Good science there bro.
Complete bull. Masturbation is good for you in moderation. Also a lot of people have no trouble approaching girls (myself included), but still do masturbate regularly (myself included).

Search NoFap forums and even the 2014 thread on TSR and see what people's responses are. It has done people wonders.

One thing I didn't mention however is that masturbation is fine if it is not to porn. Porn depicts an unrealistic representation of women in day to day lives and therefore guys that do masturbate to porn are probably worse off than those that masturbate to real women if you get me.

well done for falling for that feminist bull****. It's pretty easy to watch porn while understanding it's not a real depiction of sex.
a forum is not scientific evidence. For one people are more likely to post back with their positive results. Secondly it could largely be a placebo effect.

please never source TSR as a reference again.

also your whole bass of argument started about dopamine being released. That doesn't change if you masturbate without porn. Not everyone feels guilty after masturbating. It's just a part of life. Hell even when I'm in a sexual relationship I'll masturbate from time to time.

This is an extension of a feminist campaign that has tricked a few gullible men. It's all part of a feminist plot to make men become anti-porn. Don't fall for it. Keep fapping guys.

I am not reference TSR am I, I am just saying others feel the same way; placebo effect or not.

And falling for bull ****? It works for me so I thought I'd share it. If you think its a load of *******s and that it won't work then so be it.
