Lookinf for housemates :D

Hi everyone ! I'm a young french student about to study business law in Exeter for the 2014/2015 year (LL. M) ! I would like to share a house with other students, either international or English, from 20 to 25 yo ! I I'm looking for a home rather than a house, where we could have fun (but not a "24hoursparty" house haha) and enjoy this year  !

Let me know if you are interested by a private let !

Looking forward to hearing from you !

Jasmine
Hi Jasmine,

I'm looking for housemates also and I too want a home with like minded people who I could have fun with, as well as time to study when needed! I am 20 years old and will be studying law at Exeter.
Please let me know if you would be interested and hopefully we can find some more flatmates, I look forward to hearing from you!

Awesome! where are you coming in from?
There are quite a few pros and cons for each..
Pros for self catered: 1) eat what you like, when you like 2) you have a living room unlike catered halls 3) could potentially work out cheaper (especially if your'e willing to have a standard room as opposed to en-suite)

Cons for self catered: 1) You can't choose who you live with 2) this kind of goes with number 1 as you might get put with extremely messy people who steal your food etc  3) you could end up with really noisy students who want to party at all hours

Pros for catered: 1) your food is cooked for you, all you have to do is eat! 2) someone else does your dishes 3) you get a variety of good cooked food and it takes away the stresses of having to budget for shopping

Cons for catered: 1) meals are at certain times and you may find yourself rushing to grab your meal, whereas you self-catered friends can eat whenever (but on the plus side, your catered friend will be rushing to the dinning hall with you! 2) you don't have a living room like self-catered halls, but i'm sure the dinning halls can be used for socialising. 3) A follow up from number one, if you miss meal times constantly, you may feel as if you have wasted your money on catered accommodation.

Pros for private: 1) you have more room and can make the place as homely as you like 2) you can sort of choose who to live with and it generally tends to be much more tidier and less noisy 3) You have less of those silly rules that you would in halls!

Cons for private: 1)budgeting if bills aren't included (they usually are most of the time) 2) you may have to pay for periods that you are not there (or you could rent it out for those periods, e.g Christmas period etc)
3) The property may be far from campus - solution = finding one near campus!

I hope this somewhat helped. Initially, I was confused, but then I did a bit of research around the three. I have applied for catered accommodation, but if I find flatmates I will go for private accommodation

Thanks a lot! This is incredibly useful
I'm coming in from India!
I also sent in my accommodation application yesterday, went Self Catered. What tipped the scales for me was that fact that if I did take catered, and decided to eat outside (Which I'm sure would happen often) I'd essentially be paying for two meals, and plus with self catered we can pay per meal to eat at campus halls!

Hi,

I'm going to study Economics and Politics in Exeter from September and I'm looking for a home for next three years. I'm not very keen on student accommodation as well, as it seems to be possible to find much nicer and cheaper place in private sector. It will be great to share a house with other students! Please let me know if you still looking for housemates)
