I was in exactly the same situation as you until I tagged along with a friend to dance classes a couple of months ago. What the hell, I thought, I'll probably be crap at this and not enjoy it one bit. I was just a tad wrong.

Aside from being really fun in itself, it's absolutely fantastic for meeting girls, if entirely in a social context and not an immediately romantic one as may be found in a nightclub. If you want to 'pick up' girls immediately, dancing is the wrong way to go. But if you want an environment where you can try something new and comfortably talk to women, opening up the possibility of asking one for a drink etc, then it's great.

What kind of dance was it?

Swing, but I assume it goes for most types, ballroom and Latin as well.

I've always fancied learning tango/samba/rumba etc, but have always been too busy with other stuff and that doesn't look like its about to change any time soon.

Maybe if I became single again I might give it a go.

If I'm honest, I estimate that a fair few guys use it as a social get out of jail card. Couples do go, but I reckon most people are single.
I'm a man, I do dancing and yoga, and have made some friends by it (take note OP/Anonymous). And I don't at all feel "weird" for it, why should I feel weird for something I enjoy? lolololol... The OP has received good advice from many, yet he hasn't even acknowledged it haha...

What does he expect? Total strangers to come up to him, ask him to rub their tits?
You just need to get out of your comfort zone.

I'm sure your current friends have other friends who you could be introduced to.
Obviously don't go and be like " I want to me your friend X" . Well you could do that, or be more subtle about it.

Maybe your workplace have events(sports) etc, where you could meet people.

You need to widen your circle, don't just have the mentality "I want to meet more girls", if you meet more guys for example they could the, in time, introduce you to girls etc. Don't be too keen.

I know lots of Americans, I don't think they're any friendlier or less friendly than a Brit. They just have a different accent, that's all.

Not uni clubs you great dingbat, normal regular people clubs, like cricket clubs, cycling clubs, knitting groups, heavy metal gig goers groups.

Whatever you're into, there will be a club for it in your local area if you google it.

No americans have a different culture and not as reserved as brits.
Tell me about
a) pubs in london

b) Cricket Clubs outside of London ?
c) Cycling clubs outside of London
c) Heavily metal gig goers groups for individuals ?

that I could join tomorrow

sport clubs are also primarily about training for competition not meetings girls but go ahead prove me wrong

Im waiting

Tell us what your location is and what interests you have and we will recommend a club or something for you to join.

No, these groups are not designed for meeting girls, they're designed for socialising opportunities with other people with the same interests. That may or may not mean girls. But if it doesn't, so what? At least if you make some male friends you will then have someone else to socialise with.

For example I frequently go to the pub with the guys from my sports club. In the pub are lots of girls, if I was single I would find it quite easy to find a date.

I'm sure there must be some pub guides to London you can look up. I don't live in London, I can't remember the names of the pubs I have visited there specifically.

Humans are humans, mate.

The reason people say clubs/groups is because you see them regularly. You have the same interest, and you can to some degree gauge their character. It's just like in school, if you're in the same classes, it makes sense to make friends.

This applies...well everywhere. it's not solely down to culture.

And it's your attitudes holding you back. Who says girls don't do sport? Maybe not football, but then you have to step outside of your comfort zone.

Online. Literally all I have to say.

on-line...so tinder:?

I heard that aint too successful for men

1, Every place has sports clubs, social groups and pubs.
2. So find a better pub. If you don't drink, start.
3. No, but its no different. If you have any kind of social skills you will instantly spot the people that will be happy to chat and the ones that wouldn't.
4. In my experience, yes. If you're a likeable person they will like you and want to hang out with you and introduce you to people. If you're not.... then that's another issue.

and if youre not a likeable person:?
Why does nobody in their 20s go to social groups?

Depends what you're looking for. If you're literally just looking for sex then Tinder is fine but if you're looking for an actual relationship then there are better places to go. Same for friendships. I know several guys who have had plenty of success on Tinder so iunno.

For dating, dating websites? Dating websites can also be useful for finding friends. I personally made a huge amount of my friends through online gaming though so /shrug

I don't think it's too young. Plenty of people on dating websites from 18-24. Though I suppose they're more use in cities. Your assumption that CoD is a good game to have any positive social interaction does suggest gaming is clearly not going to be your place. I never saw it as a waste because it was a way to meet people and maintain friendships with a lot of interesting people.
