Does Facebook sometimes say your online when your not?

I'm asking this because whenever my girlfriend has not replied for a while I'll go on Facebook and it will say she's online but when I confront her she says she hasn't even been on it. So who's lieing here, Facebook or my girlfriend?

Yes, but nowhere near as often as people sometimes claim...

I think it occasionally bugs out when people receive Facebook notifications, and thinks they're active for that instant - but if it says that they're on there for more than just a moment then they're probably being sneaky :wink:

That happens to me sometimes too. If you're logged on on your phone then it can show your online when you're not actually using it. ... Or she could be lying, you never know

I looked into this recently and lots of people said it was an inaccurate way of telling if someone is actually online or not. Of course, there is still the chance that she actually is online though.
