Don't text multiple times if I haven't answered for an hour or two. I'll talk when I'm free (and if I'm not wanting to talk to you, spamming me isn't improving your chances). Sounds harsh but it's irritating.
On the positive side, be fun and/or interesting. Either is good. Tell stories, talk about life, the universe and everything. Also dad jokes work on me, but I might be weird.
Finally, reasonable (not perfect) grammar and spelling is helpful. If you use a semicolon you've gone too far.

use texting mainly to set up dates and what not -- you don't want to just be some kind of penpal to her. Only text back if she enjoys texting, and even then, don't text as much as her. Vary the time between you reply -- sometimes rather quick, sometimes slow. if she gets annoyed, you don't owe her an apology; you're a busy guy.
Don't continually ask her nonsense like how her day was if you're only dating her for now - that's what friends do.
Keep it funny, banterous etc.
