Do you need friends?

Stupid question i know but do you really need them? Sometimes i think to myself im fine on my own and i dont need them but then when i go out and see people hanging out with their friends, having fun and that, i cant help but feel lonely or that i have no one to chill with besides at at school. I just wanna be independent and idek im just waffling at this point.
