Physics, Chemistry, Biology. Which one is your favourite?

For me it's biology followed by chemistry then physics. I just find learning about nature and its adaptions but also the way viruses and bacteria behave so interesting

Okay I got an A in Physics today and a B in Chemistry() 1 RAW mark off an A.

therefore, I now hate chemistry and love physics

Lol fair enough. Did you do bio as well?
Put a 'hate all' option there just in case people really do hate all science in general.
And yeah, guess I did forget the maths option :P

Edit: the hate for biology is unnecessary. It isn't all memorisation! My dad specialises in mathematical biology.

For all those people who say biology is just regurgitation whereas physics isn't. Let me say this:

If you read any book on physics. They're all the same. Black holes. Blah blah. photons. electrons. Blah blah. big bang. Ooh, what have we discovered in the last 20 years? 1 Higgs particle. marvellous. The Standard Model can be written on one side of a piece of A4 paper.

Now think about biology. DNA. The workings of the cell. Creating genetic engineered monsters. Decoding DNA. Creating new lifeforms. Finding the cure for cancer. How to cure the common cold. Engineering a mouse to life for 100 years. Splicing jelly fish DNA into mushrooms. The inner workings of cellular life. Deep sea ocean vents supporting chemosynthesis. Literally there is too much to write down.

To be an expert in theoretical physics takes about 10 years (probably not much longer when they discovered everything). To be an expert in all the areas of biology would take several lifetimes. So who is the stupid one and who is just slightly autistic and prefers the order of physics and maths equations to the infinite complexity of real life? Exactly. lolz.

No Biology is interesting but the exams are tormenting. I would have being convinced if Biology exams were open-book kind of exams. There's too much to learn, to memorise. That's all. Not that its boring but too much to Learn.

Anyone with a good memory can do Biology. That's all it takes. And all that effort. Do we really need to remember all that ?

I like learning about how all the chemical reactions in a biological pathway, all the pathways associated with an organ, all the organs in the human body balance out to produce you - a walking, talking, social, emotional, complex, instinct-driven being. You could call that Biology, or sometimes even Psychology, but to those who say bioscience is all irrelevant memorisation, I disagree.

'If you read any book on physics. They're all the same.' - I loled.

Concerning what you said about being able to write the standard model on a side of A4, while I'm not sure about this, I get what you're saying. Don't you think that makes it great though? Here we have this immensely complex world that has 'too much to write down' about it (like the biology you mention) yet all of the rules that govern how it works can be written down so simply.

I like physics because it is so fundamental. You can explain how chemistry/biology works through the laws of physics.

'So who is the stupid one and who is just slightly autistic and prefers the order of physics and maths equations to the infinite complexity of real life?'
- What does this even mean?...

I was arguing that you have to be cleverer to do biology than physics. (My perspective is that I learned maths and physics). Because in essence physics can be boiled down to rules that can be written on a side of A4 paper. Which is very pretty and nice and everything but understanding that doesn't necessarily make you cleverer than someone who masters biology and finds a cure for AIDS.

Cleverer to do it yes, but I wouldn't say to understand it. It's an easier subject than Chemistry and Physics in my opinion, with a lot of others thinking the same way.

Chemistry pwning guys

Chemistry all the way. I like all of them, but chemistry is my favourite.

By a clear mile, CHEMISTRY.
I've lost an electron!
What! Are you positive?!

Yeah lame joke i know. But I love chemistry nonetheless.
Between physics and chemistry, but I think chemistry just wins...

I fail to see how were all arguing and bashing one anothers subjects. All science is brilliant, and all of it is interlinked. Each one would be rather pointless without the other. As for saying biology is easy and just requires memorisation, at A level yeah thats a major part. But at degree that changes.
Ohh and just to note, I also love physics and chemistry, so I'm not critising them in anyway. I just find it stupid that were arguing and trying to belittle one another subjects purely so we can feel superior...can't we just group together and say that as science students were better than everyone else

Is the joke a reference to AIDS?

I know a Joke which just works in German language. What say a physicist to an other one, if they see eye to eye: we talk the same wavelength! (in German 'wavelength' is used instead of 'language' in this idiom. So the idiom contains an ambiguity which is the punchline in this joke, you see?)

By the way my favorite is still biology, although physics has the same importance for me.

No it wasn't..it was in reference to chemistry.
Lol yeah i get it.
I like some of the content in bio-but I believe chem is harder. I find i can express myself better with equations and arrows etc.

Chemistry in terms of A Level, but Physics hands down for debates and experiments.
Chemistry is just amazing. Never fails to interest me.

Chemistry>Biology>Maths>Physics.

I love science in general though.
