Depends on the environment they work in, adult nursing covers a very broad area of nursing. Have you got any experience?

If you're thinking of applying for nursing then getting some sort of experience or shadowing of a nurse would be advisable then, it'll strengthen your application as well.

A nurse's role can be varied, it could involve helping people wash themselves or go to the toilet, giving them their medication and making sure there's nothing wrong with them that could cause their medication to affect them badly, it could involve wound care, helping someone eat their food. You could be liaising with other professionals to help the patient, such as physios, OTs, social workers, doctors, you could be speaking to their family. You could be comforting someone who is scared or confused.

You could be caring for someone who is dying.

You might have to do a lot of these things in a close timeframe and be able to decide which you need to do first and which can wait. You could have to co-ordinate this care for several patients at the same time, delegating some of the tasks to other people who are adequately trained to do them.

There's an awful lot more to nursing, as there's so much involved and some of it is difficult to explain in words, this is why I suggest getting experience.
