Don't be silly. In society's current climate it would be a miracle to find two people willing to spend fifty years together never mind "forever" (whatever that means).

I thought I had. It's weird, really, because even after all this time I feel a sense of attachment to this person.

No sense dwelling on the past. Happy memories. Perhaps someday I'll find another "forever partner". Until then, can only work on myself and enjoy life.
