age to start course

I am thinking about retraining to become a dietititian but at 56 think I might be too old as would be 60 by the time I qualify. Has anyone else started at this older age please

Absolutely not. Nursing and allied health courses have always attracted a lot of older applicants. The majority of applicants are not school leavers, and therefore have previous careers and families etc. It certainly isn't unusual to see a student in their 40's/50's/60's.
also think about retirement age...
Once qualified you'll still have 12+ years of working life left so you might as well choose a job you'll enjoy!

Try asking the course organiser.

Sorry cant answer your question as to need for dieticians etc. Try having a look on the job sites.
