SQA exam A grade banding

Hi there,
I’m not sure if this bothers anyone else, but I’m really annoyed that they don’t put the bands on your certificate. It’s just really been bugging me recently because I got all A band 1’s at Nat 5 and all the universities will know is the A grade. I worked hard for those grades and I feel that there is quite a big difference between 70% and 100%. Especially if you are looking apply for a competitive course like medicine, banding can set the ‘average’ apart from the competitive applicants.

I was wondering what everyone else thinks - should banding be specified on your SQA certificate/ UCAS application?
I think banding doesn’t really work with letter grades too and we should either get A, B, C or 1,2,3,4 etc. I got the same as you at N5 and agree that it’s a bit unfair that a 100% is viewed the same as a 70% - it’s a big difference.
