Hi everyone, I know it's a bit late to start a GYG (halfway through Yr 13 ) but I thought it'd be fun to document my revision and progress! And better late than never!

About Me
I'm 17 and in my final year of college. In my spare time, I love socialising, exercising and doing karate! I LOVE animals and have the cutest cat!:love: I love reading inspirational quotes and will be sure to add one when I update every day!

A Level Subjects
A level Economics
A level Maths
A level Chemistry

GCSE English Literature= A*
GCSE Chemistry= A
GCSE Physics= A
GCSE Biology= B
GCSE Religious Studies= A*

So 3A*s, 6As and 2Bs!

I know this isn't TSR standard but alright I guess! I'm lucky I got this unfortunately I never revised but at least I enjoyed myself!

Further Maths=A/A

The red font shows the grade my college has predicted me, and the green shows my personal goal!
For chemistry, my teacher predicted me an A* but realistically I'm sure they'll think I'll get an A so I changed it!

2018 UCAS Offers

Show

University of Cambridge= Rejection (Economics)
University of Durham= Offer/ A*AA (Economics and Management)
University of Warwick= Rejection (Economics)
London School of Economics= Offer/ AAA (Management)
University of Surrey= Offer/AAB (Economics)

I think I'm going to firm Durham (Van Mildert College) I LOVE it and Surrey will be my insurance! But, I am aiming for 3A*s and if I get them I will take a gap year and reapply to Oxbridge!

Future Aspirations
Spoiler:
Show

I would love to study Economics at Oxbridge after my gap year! Sadly I got rejected by Cambridge this time around as I only got a B in Maths. But I would love to try again after my gap year and obtained A level grades!

After uni, I aim to go into accountancy/banking! I think investment banking looks really interesting and I would love to have my own business one day!

Gap Year Plans
Spoiler:
Show

I've decided to apply for accountancy gap year internships. I will apply to Deloitte, Alphasights, IBM and am looking for more! If anybody knows any I would really appreciate it! Applications close in March, I really need to get a move on and send off my CV. I will update you on the status of my applications!

Tuesday 13th February 2018
Today was my 2nd day of half term! Pretty uneventful tbh, and I had a really bad headache I managed to do some maths revision for C3 - I did questions from the textbook for the first few chapters. I did 6 25 min Pomodoro's with a 5 min break in between each one. I really need to do AS Further Maths revision as I'm self teaching but haven't done any questions for ages!

And I really need to improve on chem- I'm only getting C's on tests when I need at least an A! My parents understandably weren't too happy about it I'm sure it's because I've been really lazy with chem revision and I've never done past paper questions until now. And also my teacher is a bit awful and I regret taking it! Oh well only 4 months to go!

And another thing I have mocks soon at the end of March! So really need to get revising for them because I'm aiming to hopefully get A/sA*s!

Not really doing much this half term, just revising and doing work really! I've decided to cut down on the amount I socialise and actually do some work
I'm already bored of the holidays want to go back to college already!

Hopefully my posts will get longer and more interesting when I have a bit more going on and figure out my writing style!

Thursday 15th February 2018
I did nothing yesterday as it was Valentine's Day! I hope everybody had a great day!

Today I did chem revision, as I'm really bad and my grade is well below where it should be Part of the reason is because I didn't make proper notes last year! So today I revise AS Organic chem- when we did it last year I had no idea what was going on But thanks to Snaprevise it all makes sense now! I revised Chapter 12 and 13 of the OCR A Spec: Hydrocarbons and Alcohols and Haloalkanes. I did 7 Pomodoro's lasting 25 mins each today so 3 hours approx but I would have liked to have done more! But I got up really late at 10:30am which I won't be doing again- I usually get up at 6:45!

Tomorrow I really need to do maths revision. Over the summer, I self taught AS Further Maths but I've barely done any questions! Also need to revise all of C3 (ugh Trig) and C4 Integration And do my mountain of homework can't believe half term's nearly over!! Why is February going so quickly?

Thought I'd attach some pictures of my revision down below. I am making my own little revision guides for every chapter in chem!

My inspirational quote for today is:
"Do more of what makes you happy"- Carmel McConnell

Thanks! I love how it relates to everyday life and it's all around us! And I like how it's a logical and creative subject at the same time. And ever since I took Business Studies at GCSE I fell in love with Business/Economics! Do you want to study medicine?
