Girlfriend applying to same uni?

Currently in my first year of uni, my girlfriend is still at college but has applied to the same uni as me and has got an unconditional offer. We will be in different years obviously, and we’re not doing the same course either.

Has this happened to anyone else? And did it work out for you or not?
If you trust your gf to have a good time there, I don't see what could go wrong  I'm sure you'll agree on times to meet etc.
that’s kinda like a good thing isn’t it?
Make sure she's choosing the uni she wants not the uni which you're at in case you break up. But it should be fine if you communicate. Lots of people meet partners at uni, just talk and make sure you both get space to do your own thing. If you break up you'll be able to never see each other in most unis.

It's a tough one, that.

It's good, in that you'll be able to hang out in the same uni city, socialise with new friends, do activities together etc.
But it's also bad, in case you do break up, and cross paths, or see her with someone new (& forever compare yourself to that guy on 'how is he better than me', etc) or something else.

One of my friends applied to the same uni his GF (from college) was going too, and she got in, he didn't. They saw each other for a few months, but because of the distance, they broke up. They, however, still remain good friends and meet up on half terms / Christmas / Easter breaks.
