should I work in China?

okay so i''ve been offered a teaching job with English First for a year in Beijing. I was really excited when i got the offer but my parents have their concerns as ive never been to the country before and know nearly nothing about it and its very far away.

What do you guys think should i take it? my parents are my main support system so to not have their backing would kind of make the whole thing a bit harder and sucky
It would be a plus to know and find other people who know English and Chinese to be around before venturing out. Maybe the common idea. You may feel homesick after a while, so be prepared for that. It will be a nice experience if you venture out for a career. It is very very distance and that's the biggest risk. It's not like you are travelling short haul to a country to teach like Poland or Ukraine and return home in 2 hrs.

I think teaching English is great for people in China. It's not like throwing robotics arms in the country for them to be pushed to the side.
