Well, within reason, people are allowed to argue and be angry at each other? It's not your choice or place to interfere.

And I know this sounds like i'm piling it on, but you can't really whiteknight someone over something you kinda provoked

I think you really need a change in perspective about what you honesty want and are trying to accomplish here, not to mention how other people view your actions.

sorry but you're completely in the wrong. this has nothing to do with the other guy being insecure, it's just inappropriate to do that if you know she is in a relationship.
