Are there any places left?

Son has waited ages for his decisions for medicine- received his last rejection late last night! 3 interviews, narrowly missed out on Keele. Unlucky with Liverpool and Uclan. No chance at Imperial. Unsure what to do now! Don't think there are any places left! Anybody in the same predicament?

Options:
1) Try and find out if a medicine clearing spot is available (my understanding is they do exist but are hard to get, perhaps get on google then email/call unis to see if its a possibility). -these still require an interview...
2) Re-apply next year
3) Go to uni and do another course biomed related, then apply for GEM (Graduate entry medicine, which is even more competitive then undergrad, but is a possibility)
4) Take some time think about what else he enjoys and apply for something else, either in clearing or next year.

Its a difficult place to land but if you apply to 5 unis all for medicine, but its a very real possibility due to the competition for places.

Lancaster had spots but you had to apply early May through Extra but he couldn't as he was still waiting for his answers. He has just emailed a few places, after googling. Uclan has offered him Medical Sciences 2 year accelerated degree so that is a possibility.
Swansea university do a number of medical related courses and you can then apply to their GEM if your grades are high enough. I dont know whether these courses are currently available. More get rejected for Medicine than accepted so your son certainly isnt alone.
