Nearly 20% of 18- to 29-year-olds reported having no sex at all in 2016, an almost 50% rise over those who were celibate in 2000. Are young people getting more boring?

They are business on social media and getting into university and a good job to have sex

This study was done in America. America =/= UK.
If sex is the only thing you find interesting, I think you need help.
Look at the positives- teenage pregnancy levels in the UK have reduced and in 2016 were down to the lowest recorded in at least 47 years. Perhaps also young women are more confident to say no to young men (hopefully).

The negative is that porn may be a contributory factor.

I expect in 2020 it will easily be the lowest level given Covid 19.

Just because they aren't having sex doesn't mean that they're boring. Me and my boyfriend have a very not-boring relationship even though we've never had sex (It's been almost a year...not thAAt long but that's not the point)
Why would you equate a lack of sex to being boring? The idea that you have to have sex to be worth anything is a huge part of what's wrong in today's culture.
No, young people aren’t getting more boring, we’re getting more tired and don’t have the time or energy for sex when we’re already getting consistently screwed at every point in our lives

But the Daily Mail told me that the majority of young people are sex crazed addicts who go to uni to drink and have one night stands..

and they are right!

yeah it is good that women are rejecting boys they dont like
young people are getting screwed by the tories every day
Perhaps reason why young people having less is because of the work that the local health boards and local authorities are doing in promoting safe sex in schools and colleges etc. Staff going round all educational places telling then about things on this will hopefully helped in reducing underage mums to.

Plus this lockdown we had to probably helped keep them all in there houses instead of getting upto no good .

I’m female and 16 and a virgin don’t feel the need to and definitely will not be pressured into it

Well done for saying this as I hope you keep your word on this but you right don't be pressured into having it okay as wait till you feel comfortable.
Well that back lashed on the OP...
It's clearly to do with the current social atmosphere, across Europe, in the US and in much of southeast Asia birthrates are falling to record low levels, in fact one of the only places with a rapidly booming population rn is Africa, every where else is set to decline, including India, as time goes on at least for the long forseable future. Many now a days are focusing on bettering their lives before committing to having a family and the concept of the nuclear family is falling out of favour and the gender social norms are changing, which is all contributing to this outcome. I myself am at least demisexual, possibly asexual, and have little interest in sex, it just doesn't seem very interesting. I only want the romance.

I don't suspect that an increase in demisexuality and asexuality is a major contributing factor for less people having sex though, but it's a wide mixture of factors to do with the social, economic and political climate, especially in the West. Dumbing it down to the younger population being boring is ignorence on a wide scale.

lol. i am loving the rages that sine people are having and using words like pervy to hide their hang ups about words like "virgin" , "sex" " having sex". Shock horror, investigate!!

Pointing out that a disproportionate amount of your posts focus on sex does not suggest someone has hang-ups
Well, sorry but I have standards as to who I have sex with. I’ve not met a man in the past year who is worthy of being ****ed unfortunately.

Not if you're a gay guy. Grindr has become ubiquitous among gay guys these days, making casual sex easier than ever. That's not to purport a negative stereotype about gay people, it's just speaking from experience - every single young gay guy I know, including myself, has used Grindr.

In the straight community I feel like men's high sex drives are constrained healthily by women's lower sex drives (I could be wrong). But in the gay community, everyone is male, so there's no limit to how much sex you can have, really. There is always demand. I could get a hookup per day if I wanted to thanks to Grindr.

It was actually a question to debate, not an actual fact??
