If there is furniture in your room already, which you don't want... can you move it somewhere? Or can someone take it away?

That would be a question for the accomodation office at your chosen university.

Hi there,
Accommodation providers are usually fine with you moving furniture, as long as it doesn't cause an obstruction and as long as you do return it to where it was when you check out. If you'd like to taken away, I'd recommend speaking to your accommodation team. They may be able to put it in storage, if they have it available.
