School

Till 16 or not
Not sure what you're asking, but you have to be in some sort of education system till 18
You reach the end of Compulsory School Age the last Friday of the academic year in which you would turn 16 (Year 11 in school). So the current cohort of kids that this applies to were born between 1st September 2006 - 31st August 2007.

After that, technically you're supposed to be in some form of education or apprenticeship until you are 18, but it isn't actually enforced. If you did decide to leave education before 18, the worst that would happen is that your parents would lose benefits for you.

In terms of work, you might find it difficult to find an employer willing to take you on before you reach CSA or before you have your National Insurance Number (which you receive shortly before your 16th birthday, but actually if you have a Child Trust Fund it's the exact same number as that).

However children can work, but there are limits to how many hours they can work and what type of work they can do. The info is on the gov website.

I don't really know what your initial question was, but I hope this covers it.
