Leaving my job

I work in a large organisation and the main building is going to be closed for over a year, due to renovations. As a result, a lot of my colleagues and myself have been made redundant.

I've been really upset over this, I'm a student and I have another job on the side but I'm not bothered about losing my job; I'm only upset because I'm going to miss everyone and of course working in the company environment. My colleagues were planning a leavers party thing for everyone, but I don't want to attend because I feel like I'm going to end up crying the whole time. But this may be the last time I ever see my work colleagues.

Should I attend or not?
Yes, attend. If you cry the whole time, you've felt what you needed to feel. You don't have much to lose by crying, and you get to see your colleagues and plan to do something again. Don't let worrying about it rob you of what could be a celebrating way out!
