Disability students in University

So I got diagnosed with a disorder, and this has allowed me to be classed as a disability student in university. I have the choice to apply for the support or not. Now, the problem is I’m not sure if I should apply.
What do I get from being classed as one? Will I be treated different? Should I just apply for support? Since it’s a mental disorder, I didn’t think it would class as a disability, so I’m not sure. Any help?

It basically enables you to access some support from the universities student support services. You may be able to apply for disabled student allowance though I’ve tried this and it was so stressful I gave up 😂. But very good idea to mention it when applying so the university can support you if you begin to become unwell/struggle more with studies due to the condition. Hope this helps.
