Student Finance Allowance

So I was approved for the highest student maintenance loan, however, my sponsor needs to submit further evidence for this.
In the meantime I have been bumped down to the lowest allowance. If the evidence from my sponsor is valid, will I get paid the difference in the first payment?
I'm not too sure how the payments work, will I be paid the first amount, then a second amount with the difference?
