What uni offers my desired course?

Ideally, I really want to do a combined English Literature and Sociology BA but barely any (good) unis offer it, so I was thinking maybe just Liberal Arts but I don't know which uni has a good reputation for that

Exeter offer a course called Flexible combined honours where you can combine most subjects. Contact them to see if they can combine these 2. Lots of universities offer Liberal Arts including Durham and Exeter.
Hi there,

Here are a couple websites you could try which shoot back which universities do your degree or give some examples of similar courses:
https://www.theuniguide.co.uk/courses
https://www.whatuni.com/degrees/find-university/

It may also be worth working the other way around and having a look at which universities take your interest (high-ranking, location, social side etc) and looking into the courses they offer. You may find your course or find something similar which you wouldn't mind taking on instead.

Good luck with everything!

Durham:

Newcastle offers a Combined Honours BA where you can pick English Literature and Sociology.

There are many types of degrees where you can study a range of Humanities/Arts ans Social Sciences together. Some of these degree allow you to have a 'main' subject and others are more flexible. This 'breadth' is valuable - it exposes you not just to different individual subjects but also the connections between these subjects. This is the sort pf intellectual development that employers want - it means you a better able to see the wider-picture, better at looking at problems/situations from different points of view etc. Add in something like study abroad or a work placement and its the best possible career launch-pad you could have.

All these degrees are structured differently, and each Uni will include different possible subject combinations depending on that individual Uni's specialisms, so check carefully to see what is is different about each course.
Examples :
Liberal Arts BA : University of Sussex
Liberal Arts | Faculty of Arts | University of Bristol
BA (Hons) Liberal Arts with a Placement Year 2024/25 | UEA
Combined Honours, BA (Hons) - Swansea University
Combined degrees - Undergraduate - University of Liverpool
Subjects | School X | Newcastle University (ncl.ac.uk)
Flexible Honours - School of Arts, Languages and Cultures - The University of Manchester
Flexible degree structure - Subjects - University of St Andrews (st-andrews.ac.uk)

There are also 'science' versions of these degrees - look for 'Natural Sciences' - and also Arts/Sciences :
Natural Sciences (bath.ac.uk)
Discover Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences at Birmingham - University of Birmingham
Biology and History and Philosophy of Science BSc | University of Leeds
thanks people!
