Inputting current work - unclear end date

Hi,
I am currently trying to put in my current employment but UCAS won't let me input that it's ongoing. Should I just leave it out or input a future date that I would theoretically be leaving it if I got into a university (say Summertime)?

It's not a particularly impressive job - just a part time supermarket thing, but I would like to show that I have been doing stuff and not just sat at home. I plan on mentioning my volunteering in my personal statement which I do alongside it but I am worried that whoever sees the application will only notice that I left my previous job and assume it was due to a personal fault and move on without considering my statement and volunteer work. I understand how silly that sounds.

I know I am being overly worried but I can't shake this stupid idea. Can someone please let me know what is recommended in this case? Do people looking over apps even consider employment very much?
