Salaam / Hey
I'm a 22 year old British Pakistani nearing the end of my Psychology BSc.
I have always had an interest in studying medicine but wasn't able to due to personal circumstances.
I'm considering applying for the GEM route and am sure I could do it (InshaAllah) if I put in the hard work, but in the long run, it would mean starting my FY1 at the age of 27.
I'm fine with that, but then comes the issue of marriage.
My parents want me married by next year, but if I'm still studying a medicine degree, would any man be willing to marry me?
Of course, I'd be in no position to start a family as I would still be studying, regardless do you think it would be okay for me to go for it?
I feel like it's highly unlikely any man would be willing to do that, obviously I understand- but I just wanted advice of some sort.
I really really do want to study medicine but I don't know if I'm being unreasonable and not thinking rationally.
I also know that I'd regret it FOREVER if I didn't go for it this time.
Men and women both, please be honest in your advice it would mean a lot!!
JazakaAllah
