Applied bioscience foundation year at cov uni

Hi, so I’ve got a place at cov uni to study applied bioscience foundation year. The aim is to follow on to diagnostic radiography the following year. My first question is, is this the correct course to be taking to lead me onto it and my second question is, what open days are there for this year and which location are they at?

Are you intending to continue studying DR at Coventry uni? If so, contact admissions and ask if the bioscience foundation year will get you onto their course. Please note that if this is not the case (ie you intend to study DR at another uni), then foundation years are not usually transferrable and a one-year Access to HE course might be a better (and cheaper) option for you.

@Coventry University Student Ambassadors might be able to help with your other questions.

Hi, I will also be doing the foundation year this September. And hoping to get a place on the Dietetics Bsc for 2025 🤞 did you manage to find out about going to a cu cov open day? I've only been to the main uni open day.

Hi there,
Coventry University student ambassador here!,
I am a 2nd year BSc Biomedical Science student going to 3rd year this semester. I'd be happy to help you with your questions wherever I can, So basically in regards to your 1st question I think doing an applied biosciences foundation year before going into diagnostic radiography is an amazing choice as you are going to learn about health and diseases while brushing on your previous knowledge of human anatomy and physiology along with taking a deeper look at the microscopic level you will also be introduced to cell biology. In my knowledge, all of these modules combined would reap you great benefits going into first year of diagnostic radiography as the some of the modules for 1st year are very closely related to what you have already studied. Moreover I think looking into health and diseases in your foundation year would help you understand the diagnostic part of your course with more ease! So I believe you're on right track with this.
As per regarding your next question for open days we have our next one schedules on 28th of September and another one on 26th of October!
Feel free to book your self in here-https://www.coventry.ac.uk/study-at-coventry/visit-our-open-days/
Hoping to see you with us soon,
All the best for your future,
Kind regards,
Harleen.

Is anyone able to help advise about what the timetable for this course is like? I've tried calling the student engagement team but they haven't been able to help as the timetable comes out at the end of August.
I know it will differ each year but just wondering if you are generally in uni each day for this course or whether there is normally a day where you aren't on site? I am hoping to carry on working 1 day a week so just wondered if this might be possible or not. Thanks for any advice.

Hey, Coventry University Student Ambassador here! 👋

Unfortunately, timetabling does come closer to the start of term, but from my course, software engineering, we were on campus maybe three days a week. Some days we would have a 2-hour slot in the morning and that was it, some had an evening slot, and if you're unlucky, you might have one in the morning and one in the evening. I'm almost certain you'd have at least one or two days with no classes, and I'm sure you could fit in a part-time job like many of the students here! I worked as a barista during my studies as well as an ambassador! Hope it helps 😄
