Research Project Question
Hello everyone!
I wanted to do a research project and one of the main criteria was that the chosen research question had to answer a gap in current knowledge. I want to do my research project on something medicine / biomed related.
Here are some ideas I have thought of:
- Can genes protect us from disease?
- What defines a complex disease?
- Fusion genes?
- Does autism have a genetic basis?
- How can the immune system help to fight against cancers?
- Genetic basis to mental health issues
- Can genetic mutations be beneficial to humans?
- Which one do you think would carry the greatest potential?
- Is autism a disease?
- Do we know the brain as much as we would have thought?
- Are genetic disorders all about genes? Can genetic disorders be affected by the environment?
- To what extent can personalised medicine be used to treat Alzheimer’s disease ?
- Ethical issues associated with treating people with cancer
- Can we make cancers and disease?
- How do different organs respond to excess cholesterol levels?
- Can transposon’s be used to treat genetic disorders?
- What exactly is the dark genome?
- Role of non-coding RNAs in diseases such as depression and schizophrenia
- How do non-protein coding sequences communicate with each other to regulate gene activity?

- How can the study of gene expression be used to identify how drugs work?
