Your friend sounds like an idiot tbh, i have completely the opposite views to you but if a friend told me they were against what i think, i wouldn't mind. I'd respect their opinion. I was dragged into all the wrong things when younger because of peer pressure - so good on you for not doing the same!

2 words: Peer Pressure.....its difficult at times to say no but in the end its up to you and what sorta life you wana lead, i say your in the right and your friends are probs only likely to regret that sorta immature stuff
