If I don't get into my firm, can I reject my insurance?

Hi there,

If I dont meet the requirements of my 'firm' university, but DO meet the requirements of my insurance, can I decide to reject my insurance anyway and take a spontaneous gap year, or am I obliged to go....

What we were told at our school was that technically you'd be legally required to go but that it wasn't really enforced, so basically you'd probably be able to get out of it. Probably check with your school, though.

You could probably ask them to defer your entry for a year when you receive your results?

If you meet the terms of your Firm offer - or they accept you anyway - your Insurance offer disappears. You cannot at that stage decide you would rather go to your Insurance. Choose carefully.

Yes, you can cancel your place (whatever place you have) after Results Day. Just think very carefully before you do it - deferring and doing some careful thinking is often a much better option.

Hi, Im considering taking a gap year providing I get my results, if my firm offers me a place is it possible to defer or did I need to apply deferred?

If the Uni agrees (most will) then you can defer whatever confirmed place you have until 2015 entry.
