Why didn't this girl let me hug her? Please help

background info
For the last two weeks we have been flirting consistently. We have been talking about everything.
A couple of my friends have seen that how flirty she has been and have told me to ask her out.

She has taken on some of my interest such as borrowing my game of thrones books.

today's events

We were flirting, we sat next to each other in the lecture. I caught her looking at me many times an smiled

She look different today and seemed less cheerful. She didn't take notes in the lecture, and she is usually making lots.

I asked her if she is okay, then offered a hug. She said no thanks.
What did I do wrong, I hug a lot of my friends.
I was about to ask her out today.

Should I countinue to talk to her? What can I do?
Why did she refuse, it was purely friendly hug?

Thank you for reading

She didn't want a hug because she was probably in a piss poor mood.
Maybe she just didn't feel herself today, don't beat yourself up over it <3 also what do you mean by flirting? Because I get told I flirt a lot and I don't see it so maybe it's the same with her but good luck...

It's really interesting how you've made this about you. She's given every indication that she's in a crap mood and you make this about how you were turned down for a hug, despite there being no connection between you and her mood.
No, never talk to her again, the two are completely related and there is no chance of anything.

Agreed! OP, focus on academic succession than flirting with that girl, lectures are far greater.
And, she may have been on her monthly cycle or experienced a certain trauma?

I just wanted to give a friendly hug, because hugs help cheer people up.

She was if an off mood, buy she was still talking lots and laughing loads at my humour, so it thought it was okay.
Must be that time of the month.

Jesus H Mother****ing Christ, are people not allowed to have bad days any more?

She was presumably in a bad mood, end of story.

If you really think that you should stop talking to somebody because they were in a bad mood one day then bloody hell is the rest of your life going to be lonely.
