The Student Room Group

This is horrible.

I feel lonely . I've moved to a new town for a new job, initially it started off well, as I was socialising with work colleagues, that tailed away as some got in to relationships etc. I don't really get on with my flatmates, they're ok but we're 'different' people. They're slightly younger and just want to get drunk all the time.

I want to expand my social circle, meet new people, how do I do this? Apart from joining clubs etc any suggestions?
Maybe hang around the people you already know and try to meet new people through them so if they wanted to go to a pub and get drunk you could go so you don't arrive alone and try to talk to some new people while you are there.
Good Luck!

Potentially; but the nights out aren't as frequent which is why I'm keen to meet new people outside of current circumstances.

No not as much now
Hmm that's a shame. I guess you could always go out on your own just to a pub or summat but you don't need to come here to hear that!
It's very hard to meet new people as an adult. I've learn't that already at uni.

You won't always meet friends that were as good as your old friends either. I am finding it hard to replace them myself.
It stinks doesn't it?
