It's not over until it's over!! I've heard people say they did badly in interviews so many times and still got the job and med phys has the most places, you're still in with a chance!

Thanks nightwing. But I dont think i survived the speciality and the values station. It was the hardest. I could not even comprehend the questions in the later station.
So when we get ranked for our preferences is that just from interview or does the short-listing score count too?? Wondered why they haven't published the short-listing scores yet.

It's just based on the interview score. They publish the shortlisting scores a few months later, I think it was July time they put ours up, but you can pay to get your interview feedback & the interviewer's comments & get it earlier once the offers are out.

I know exactly how you feel. My family keep insisting I don't know until the offers are out, but I've never screwed anything up as badly as my specialism station in that interview. I could barely answer a single question. I'm over it now anyway  I hope you're feeling okay now. There's always next year and there's also more to life than the STP! Everything will work out
Hey there,

Just wondered what sort of stuff the cardiac science folk have been revising. I've been finding it difficult to know what to focus on. Genomics seemed easier in a way. I know cardiac scientists do a lot of echocardiography, but I wouldn't have thought we would be asked to analyse images as the majority of us won't ever have actually seen a heart ultasound before!!

Obviously I know none of us have interviewed yet, so no one is going to have any real answers just kind of wondered. I've been mainly looking at heart function and common problems, but to be honest it feels a bit basic!!!

Cheers

Biochemistry and Immunology done...waiting game now. Ahhh. Hope all the time and effort we've all invested into the application will pay off  Best of luck to everyone else with the interviews x

Hi there,

Can I please ask what your qualifications and experiences are?

Unfortunately, I only made it to shortlist reserve this year for Clinical Immunology. I'm hoping to pursue the correct path in order to strengthen my application next year

Any information would be fantastic.

Thanks,
Darren

What time did you get interviewed yesterday? Just curious because I was in the 3.40 group.

Man, I know how you feel. I don't think I did horrendously at any of them but I was very average. The specialism one was the worst for me too. :/

Edit: quoted wrong person oops
This is a question to past applicants. I had my interview for Clinical Biochemistry and was told we find out 9th May. Did you find out on the day they said or earlier? Thankssss

Hi mate, mine was at 11:15. looking back at it I might have scored a 0 or 1 in the values station for sure. How many questions did you get asked in the speciality station?

Hey, not sure how many previous applicants check on here pal, might be worth just looking over previous year's threads if you are keen to know
so.. what does "interview compete" mean? is this just a general thing that goes up for everyone after the interview?

i got quite excited when i saw it no longer said interview booked haha

Unfortunately in the STP guidance notes for accepting offers "interview complete" says that the applicant is appointable but has not got a high enough score to be offered a place. But i hope this is a mistake because I interviewed on the 11th and mine says interview complete as well 😓

Surely this must be a mistake then as results wouldn't be released already!!!

I also read that, and felt my heart sink! BUT, on previous STP threads some people have had interview complete that changes to interview successful in a few days...

i should really be doing some work rather than obsessing over this but i just can't! i need to know!

I don't think this is true as it only says its around the time of offers and there is no way they have started making offers yet as the deadline for choosing where you want to go has passed yet.

"Around the time of offers, an applicant’s status on Oriel will change to either one of the following:
Interview unsuccessful applicant has not been made an offer
Interview complete an applicant is appointable but was not ranked high enough to beranked an offer at this stage of the process. It may be that an applicant’s status will change at alater date to ‘offer made’ or it may remain as ‘interview complete’. This will depend on whetherany offers already made to other applicants are declined/expired from the previous wave ofoffers and is also dependent on an applicant’s ranking and choice of sub preferences.
Offer made you have been made an offer and will need to respond as instructed above."

I was trying my best to forget until the 9th May but this is infuriating! It says in the notes that the status may change later in the process but i assumed this was from people turning down current offers and moving up the list, since no one has had offers made so far so I suppose this doesn't mean anything. Especially if all biochem interviews have changed to complete.
Last year statuses changed to 'interview complete' if you'd passed the interview or unsuccessful if not, and the offers came out a few days later...might be worth emailing the National School as I know from last year it's really stressful when things just start randomly happening!
