For most people it makes things easier; it's comforting to know what you are, to put a word to it. Also I suppose it's a good summary. I'm not saying it should be there, but that's just the way it is and the way the mind works.

And labels can get awfully complicated... (in the sense that there are so many things for which a label can't be used, just because there's so much variation and nuance to it.)
