To the OP. Stop whining for a moment and I'll tell you what life was like before we had the NHS. I was born in 1948, the year the NHS was born.
I spent my young years in a children's home. There were at least 300-500 children in that home at any given time, and there were many homes like this all over Britain.
Malnutrition, polio, diphtheria, measles, TB. I watched children my own age die from these diseases. The NHS came too late for them. It may not be perfect, but it's what we have.
