When to apply for the dental hygiene course

Hi everyone, this is my first post on TSR, so please bear with me.

I am a qualified dental nurse, hoping to go on to study Dental Hygiene at university. I have three A-C A levels already (Sociology, History, and Psychology), but all universities offering the course require A level Biology too, so I'm now studying it in my spare time. However, due to this, I have no support from a school/college or anything like that.

I have no idea when I'm supposed to apply for the courses. I have spoken to a hygienist at my practice and she said she applied before her A levels exams as they went by predicted grades, but I doubt I'll be getting predicated grades due to studying at home. I'm really confused and have no idea where to start, any help from anyone who is on the course, or is applying for it, would be really helpful

You mean the 27 month course that gives you the Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy?

Using this as an example.

The closing date is 29.9.17 for April 2018 start.

You would get your A level result sometime in August, so you need to be submitting it within a few weeks of those. Theres no reason you cnat submit it on the day of your results and just fill in the A level grade on the day.

Note application for such a course is not through UCAS so you are going to have to check with individual dental schools or the one you are interested. That way you can ask their advice as to the optimal time and make sure you dont miss any deadline. GL.
