Best University for Practicing Muslims

I believe all universities in the UK have prayer rooms and other such Islamic provisions. I also don't see you getting any overt hate or racism about your Islamic faith as English law is very strict in favour of Islamic ethnic minorities. At the end of the day you are not going to get a Saudu Arabia type of uni experience in the western world, universities are known for study alongside nightclub partying and fun etc. Some universities hAVE Islamic meetings with morons like Abdullah raheem green as speaker warning about sinning etc but I'm sure if you know your own religion you don't need all of that and a MI5 watch list record.

Each university is going to be different. My undergraduate university had big islam society and they often held joint events with the Indian society. They also had a prayer room for all students to use and I had a couple of muslim friends who would use it often. I recommend trying universities in big cities... think Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester to name a few.

Its hard to believe this person's post and I find it very ignorant. If you are in the UK you will rarely come across someone who discriminates you based on your faith, specially the Islamic faith as people in the UK are very sensitive to this subject so as not to offend this very specific minority. I feel like the OP is the one who is not accommodating of others beliefs. Besides, the UK is full of mosques and I am pretty sure you can find one in your area and attend it to socialise with your fellow faith members. You are in the uni for an education, that should be your highest priority.

That's not true for everyone, you can't say that the OP isn't accommodating from what you have read on these posts. The only thing that was said was that they wanted to be around other muslim people so that they felt supported. There's plenty of psychological theories explaining why this happens. Also, there's plenty of racism and faith based discrimination that happens in UK universities, you might just not have heard about it. Just last year at a university varsity match racial slurs were shouted at towards a black person.

Sorry if you had misread/misunderstood my post, I wasn't talking about racial discrimination against black minorities, I was talking about faith based discrimination.
