I've just received my form to apply for the childcare grant, but to estimate the cost I would have to know how many nursery sessions my daughter will need, which I won't know until I have my timetable.
Is there a deadline for applying, or can I apply at any time and have it backdated? Also how far in advance do you normally receive the timetable as I don't think I can register with a nursery until I know the timings.

Every university and college schedules classes differently so it hard to say how far in advance your timetable will be give to you. It might be a good idea to ask your uni if they can send you the timetable for this year to give you an idea of what your classes will be like.
You can apply for childcare at any point in the year and we will backdate any payments that you should have been entitled to. It's worth noting though that Childcare grant applications can take around 3 or 4 weeks to be fully processed depending on the time of the year
Hope this helps,
