if i miss my firm choice, can i reapply to do it in clearing?

No. If they have rejected you, then it's game over. They have had your results since the weekend before you get them and will have had time to decide whether to give you the benefit of the doubt. If they have decided to make it unsuccessful, they really don't want you, I'm afraid.
As above. They don't want you - so you can either go somewhere else (Insurance or Clearing) or retake/reapply next year if you think its worth it.
In addition to the above you *can* reapply but they'll tell you to bog off. If you wanted you might be able to apply for a place on a course with lower entry requirements - but if you would be willing to study an alternate course in order to attend that specific uni you would be better letting them know that BEFORE results day in which case they can consider you for that course too.
You can apply through clearing but I doubt they would accept you.
