Failed modules in first year? Can you re do the year?

I'm wondering if anyone can help me understand this.

For some of my modules it says 'refer' aka I didn't pass a piece of coursework and need to complete it again by August.
But then it says I am not eligible to proceed to the next stage of my programme.

Does that mean even after re doing the work I'm basically kicked out of uni??
No if you redo the work and pass you should then be eligible

Usually students are allowed to 'trail' one failed assignment and progress into the next year in the normal timeframe, on the condition they pass it within a specified timescale. Unfortunately you have failed more than one assignment so trailing will not be permitted for you, you will have to redo the year. You will get finance for the additional year as one extra year is permitted, but be aware the original failed modules will likely still be on your final transcript of results if you graduate.
