Security Clearance in Aeronautical Eng. jobs: Implications for Non-British Nationals?

I have come across several intriguing job openings from companies like MBDA, Raytheon Technologies UK, and others. However, many of them require applicants to hold a current SC security clearance or be eligible for one.

As someone who will be completing a masters in aeronautical engineering in the UK next year, I am curious about whether I qualify for such job roles. Does being eligible for security clearance imply having British nationality?

For SC, I believe you don't have to be British nationality but do have to have been resident in the UK for 5 years or longer. To be honest, just email them and ask, as some companies have their own policies on these things, and they're gonna find out anyway if you apply.
