Second Student Loan Eligibility With Direct Entry

Student Finance England states the number of years of student loan you can receive is:
Length of current course + 1 - number of previous years studied
But what is the length of current course if you start a new BSc course with direct entry into second year? You would be studying for 2 years but is the course officially 3 years long?
For example, if someone used 3 years of loan before dropping out, then enrolled on a new course in second year, do they get funding for their last year (3+1-3=1) or none at all (2+1-3=0)?

Hi there,

It would be calculated based on your previous study and the years you will be attending the course.

Is it 2 years you plan on studying and just to check, is it part time and have you gained a qualification previously? Thanks, Jason
